This version is dedicated to teachers. We have attended several teachers get together events all well hosted with excellent activities. On one occasion we were asked to help organize a team building activity, and we quickly modified our In Vino Veritas activity to ask questions specifically design for educators. It was a fun and rewarding night as all persons at the activity open up and share what made them dedicate their career toward the growth and education of their student. 

Helpful Apps was formed by a group of industry professionals, including educators, who have focused their career improving efficiency through teamwork. We are releasing a set of applications that will allow a wider audience to benefit from our experiences.

In Vino Veritas, In Wine the Truth. Get to know others on a deeper level and shed light into who people are by learning about some of the experiences that shaped them into the unique individuals they are today. 

One of the basic requirements for good teamwork is to properly understand who we are, not only as professionals, but also as persons. This application is based on many years of hosting team-building events. At the end of those events each team comes out with an improved level of trust based on a greater understanding of each other. 

The name In Vino Veritas, comes from the first time we used this approach to improve trust between team members. We took a troubled team out for dinner and noticed the team was limiting the after dinner conversation to polite small talk. Trying to break the ice we started our first ever In Vino Veritas. We ordered good wine for the table and started a round robin of deep personality questions. We immediately noticed the pleasant surprise as persons started to open up to each other. At work, the next day the atmosphere had changed to one of more trust. Since that time we have used this approach several times, although sometimes without wine.

This application was first designed as a team building activity, but after we noticed its benefit on our own dates, we quickly modify it to add more appropriate questions. Since its first modification, couples have used it in their first dates, as well as couples celebrating their anniversaries. They all have reported that it generated good conversations that lead to an improved connection and understanding.

It is often challenging to identify not only how one feels, but how others feel. Moreover, the topic of human emotions, what people do to become self-aware and respond appropriately, is the main topic of thousands of articles, research papers, books and current debate.  However, one could assume that the awareness of our own feelings, as well as other people’s feelings, are key components to being able to live a productive and balanced life. It just simply makes sense that by being able to recognize and manage our emotions, we can better help regulate our responses to those feelings, and therefore be more effective in our interactions with those around us.Helpful Apps has deployed this simple application as a tool to help you identify basic emotions as you go about your daily life. It will also provide you with simple words of wisdom, encouragement and inspiration.  We hope these will help you navigate the often-bumpy road to self-awareness and personal growth.This version is based on the Bible. It encompasses a variety of verses for each emotion.
